As soon as you take a seat A Travessa, things really take off. The drinks are there in a flash and the eight small starters are rhythmically served straight after each other. Delicious strips of the famous black pork from Alentejo, which is exclusively fed on acorns, typical Portuguese cream cheese with pomegranate, and finally the highlight – an egg with white truffle. The stingray is served with vegetable puree and tastes simply delicious. Since 1994, Viviane Durieu has shared the restaurant management with the Portuguese Antonio; both of them manage their international team, which attentively cater to the crowed of eager patrons. As success grew A Travessa moved into a former monastery. In summer you can enjoy their service sitting outside on their patio, seeped in a calming and enriching atmosphere. Their prices are fair, and making a reservation is definitely recommended.
