A bright, spacious room, with wine shelves reaching up to the ceiling, boards with the daily menu written in chalk, magnificent hams and cheese displayed behind the counter – here you can enjoy food just like in a quality French bistro. However, the cuisine and wine are Hungarian. The Bisztró, which is attached to the Hotel Royal, belongs to the renowned Villány-winegood, József Bock. All in all you can drink and buy around 350 different Hungarian wines. The chef, Lajos Biró, serves a modern Hungarian cuisine, his beef tartar capriccio and goose liver with pickled walnut, is just as tasty as his traditional Letscho. The bistro is very popular in Budapest, so make your reservation in time.
