The Dorian is the new resto jewel in Notting Hill. Owner Chris D’Sylva is already colourful on the dining scene, being the man behind Notting Hill Fish + Meat and the Supermarket of Dreams. His latest baby is just around the corner from the Ledbury with huge glass windows showing happy people crowding the counters. The Dorian offers atmosphere in abundance, thanks to a soundtrack of convivial chatter and fizzing pans and lighting that makes you look like a movie star. The hallmark of Dorian’s is probably its smallest dish: the Rösti. Here it’s a bite-sized triangle of finely grated potato, fried to a crisp and topped with either crab and onion or melt-in-your-mouth artichoke. That’s ten seconds of pure heaven.
