As L’antica Pizzeria da Michele proves, the Japanese not only master Japanese cuisine excellently but can also bake damn good pizzas. L’antica Pizzeria da Michele in Tokio is an offshoot of the original restaurant in Naples. The certification of the family, which has been baking pizzas for over 140 years, is proudly framed on the wall. The menu is simple – there are two pizzas to choose from (Marinara and Margherita), a few starters (Fritto Misto, salads, etc.) and Italian drinks. Although I am actually convinced that one should eat as much of the domestic cuisine as possible, I also understand that from time to time one needs a pizza or pasta ingestion. So once the desire for Italian food creeps up whilst roaming the streets of Tokio, this is the right address for relief.
