The Architecture and Design Museum tackles urbanism and all things related, from a variety of perspectives. Through exhibitions, symposiums, talks and seminars, various topics regarding regional, national and international architecture and design are addressed. Prize-winning designs of important competitions are displayed; research is conducted into how the enormous motor traffic influences the architecture of the city; temporary shows present the works of famous designers Ray and Charles Eames, or spectacular architectural designs for L.A. that were never realised. The museum was opened in 2001 in one of the most famous historical buildings in the city, the Bradbury Building in downtown, which is also known from the sci-fi classic “Blade Runner”. Today the institution belongs to the Museum Row near LACMA.
