Anyone with a passion for classic Danish design will run into old acquaintances here, such as Verner Panton, Finn Juhl and Hans Wegner. Behind its historical facade not far from the Town Hall Square and Tivoli Park, a century-old hotel tradition meets timeless Scandinavian style. The Alexandra almost feels like a design museum, except for the fact that no one minds if you sit on the chairs. Of 61 rooms, 11 are furnished as a tribute to individual designers with their most famous objects, so that a visit to the Alexandra feels like a journey into the 1930s or 1950s. The retro Scandinavian style runs through the whole building. Guests can relax in the small in-house “Honesty” bar, or silence their hunger in the bistro. The hotel also has bicycles available, so that after breakfast travellers can explore the city in true Copenhagen style.
