The Altfriesische Haus is a former residential house in the district of Keitum on the island of Sylt, which is now used as a museum. It lies directly on the Wadden Sea north of the Hindenburgdamm.
The Altfriesische Haus was built in 1739 as a residence for a captain and has been largely preserved in its original state. It offers an interesting insight into the past. In the kitchen, living room, pesel and cellar it seems as if the inhabitants only went out for a short time. Wonderfully tiled and panelled walls and many everyday objects from the past make the rooms cosy and lively.
