What could be better than a sweet respite after a successful shopping trip? Antico Caffè Spinnato is the most beautiful pastry shop in Palermo and a perfect place for dolce farniente. The café is centrally located and not far from the Via Roma shopping street. The piazza in front of the café is a particularly nice place to sit under a blue awning and shady trees. You can spend hours here watching the hustle and bustle amidst the sophisticated intellectual regulars. Since 1860, the Spinnato has been delighting its visitors with legendary Sicilian delicacies: The pistachio and nut ice cream (best ordered in a brioche), the granita di caffè con panna or, if you prefer it salty, the arancini with cheese and ham are award-winning. Simply marvellous – and next to knowing that you have conquered your newly acquired shopping treasures and imagining that you have brought a bit of dolce vita home with you. But a visit is not only worthwhile after a shopping spree. Spinnato is a lively place from early in the morning until late in the evening.
