The Art Hotel Blaue Gans is like a habitable exhibition. Over 90 works of art hang all over the house: from Joseph Beuys to Rosemarie Trockel to David Moises’ “Vertigo – Taking off” rocket, which was ignited at the start of the Salzburg Festival in 2008 and has now found a new space station in the inner courtyard. Since all the works are for sale, the house is constantly changing. In general, the cooperation of tradition and modernity in the Blue Goose has been artistically successful. The rather small rooms with low ceilings and irregular plaster are furnished with modern furniture and fabrics from the Salzburg Heimatwerk. The Blue Goose is very popular with musicians, artists and journalists – not least because of its casual, relaxed atmosphere.
