As unspectacular as Aurora may seem from the outside, so spectacular are the names of the guests – from Loriot to Rodolfo Valentino. But not only the famous guests make the Aurora an institution. For 100 years now, the D’Alessio family has been running the restaurant in the small old town alley in the third generation and from the first day on, the simple restaurant with its black bistro chairs, the white leather seating bands and the elegantly laid tables was the hotspot of the island. Sunburnt gentlemen present their pilot’s watches here, the ladies their dizzyingly high stilettos and the kitchen crew a modern interpretation of the Cucina Caprese – a must is the wafer-thin, perfectly crispy Pizza all’Aqua with buffalo mozzarella and a hint of peperoncino!
