In Paris, the tables are packed together everywhere, but at Aux Deux Amis it’s even more cosy – you really do sit shoulder to shoulder here. But that doesn’t bother anyone, because the guests at the neighbouring table are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. All kinds of people meet in this unpretentious wine bar in the 11th arrondissement: neighbours, students and trendy people have a lively chat over a glass of wine. The tapas specialities are displayed on the table or directly on the wall. They are accompanied by conventional and natural wines and the finest Jamón Bellota or Manchego with fig jam – and all at fair prices. The room, lined with mirrors, looks bigger than it is, warm colours make for a cosy atmosphere and if you want to be right in the middle of the action, it’s best to take a seat at the bar – where you can watch the ham being freshly cut from the leg.
