If you want to catch a touch of metropolis flair, then go for breakfast at the Barcomi’s deli in Berlin’s Mitte. It all started in an inconspicuous cafe in Kreuzberg – where they still have their bakery. It might be the smallest bakery in the whole of Germany. An innumerable amount of cakes; from apple pies, cocoa espresso loaf to New York cheesecake, leave the bakery every day. If you aren’t interested in anything sweet, you might be interested in one of their 36 different, home roasted coffee types. Mrs. Barcomi was one of the first in town to cultivate the coffee culture in town. When she came to Berlin, she missed all those things she was used to as a big-ciy dweller from America.
