The Berlinische Galerie has an unmistakable profile. It collects, preserves, exhibits and researches modern and contemporary art created in Berlin. Fine art, graphic art, photography and architecture from 1870 to the present day are represented in the interdisciplinary collection. This makes the Berlinerische Galerie fundamentally different from other exhibition centres in the capital. The collection includes, for example, Dada Berlin, New Objectivity, the art of divided Berlin and the Eastern European avant-garde.
