The Boot Café is a real eye-catcher for anyone strolling through the rows of houses of the northern Marais. The lettering “Cordonnerie” (German: Schuster) above the entrance dates from earlier times and makes the café unmistakable. At least as attractive is the coffee smell, which flies from far away and comes from Belleville. The only drawback of the Boot Café is that it only has two tables. But maybe that’s what makes this place so charming. Those who are lucky and get one of the two cookies should fully enjoy the cosy atmosphere, the music, the art hanging everywhere, the Flat White and of course the delicious desserts of Emperor Norton.
