This old brewery looks like it did 100 years ago; small and old, directly beside the old city walls on Chlodwigplatz. Order the tarte flambée with bacon and leek, the potato fritters or the Haxenpfanne – grilled trotter – and experience the ambience of the brewery. Be advised that these narrow premises can get really full. The few coveted places outside offer glimpses of Cologne’s history.
