In the centre of the city, behind a façade dating back to 1865, lies Brønnum, one of Copenhagen’s leading cocktail bars. When you enter, you immediately feel like you’ve stepped into another world, or even another century. The beautiful bar is carved from ancient wood, with high ceilings and subdued lighting from magnificent chandeliers. Old school, yet fashionable and elegant. The Brønnum is large, consisting of six interconnected rooms, totalling 400 square metres. The entrance and the main bar are rather bright, with loud music. But the deeper you go, the darker and more intimate the atmosphere becomes. You come here to drink. There are only snacks to eat, such as crisps and olives. But the list of sophisticated cocktails is endlessly long. And to top it all off, there are supposedly ‘Copenhagen’s cheapest bubbles’ here. The selection of champagne varieties is correspondingly large. In summer, Brønnum also opens its green inner courtyard – a meeting place for artists and students from the nearby art academy.
