Those who enter the Café Ansari are first of all captivated by the splendour of the place: Oak floorboards, large windows, a bar with handmade tiles and a drinking fountain with glasses, where the guests can serve themselves. But also worth mentioning is the menu, which focuses on Georgian oriental cuisine and is therefore quite exotic for this city. Our favourites are the refreshing aubergine rolls with walnuts and pomegranate, the carrots, which are tender but very spicy, and the sheep’s cheese rolled in sumac and zatar with grapefruit fillets is also grandiose. It’s best to order some of everything and then share it at the table, just like in the Orient!
