In Café Augustin the clock strikes differently – not necessarily slower, but differently. This is where people have fulfilled the beautiful dream of a café, which is also a bookstore – or perhaps the other way around. In any case, we were surprised how well it works: great cakes, quiches and souls – above all vegetarian food, prepared without exception by the booksellers themselves. There is also a nice breakfast – all organic, everything just the way we love it. The atmosphere is friendly – enjoy and browse a little. If you want, you can buy a book – but you don’t have to. Instead you can sit on the couches or benches, choose a book, order coffee and cake and take a breath. It’s a bit like falling out of time, but you’re guaranteed to come back and feel good! The choice of books fits the picture and deals in many ways especially with the topic of sustainability. Each book has its own little text with a summary so that the reader can make a decision beforehand. In the evening Café Augustinus is open until 23:00 and is supervised by Jochen Schulz, who also mixes cocktails.
