This place has always been a favorite hangout for the artists, the rebels, intellectuals and the bohemians. In summer you hang out on the large terrace on Paseo de Recoletos underneath the trees. But in winter the café equipped with old furniture and enclosed newspaper and cigarette kiosk proves to be a snug place. One of the specialties of the Gijón is “torta de queso”, a Spanish cheesecake.
