Café Twee Prinsen, which is actually more of a bar, is right in the middle of things and is especially good in the evening. That’s when it really comes alive, both inside and outside. It’s people watching at its best. A lively corner with lots of Amsterdam flair. There is a large selection of natural wines and plenty of craft and local beers. The menu includes small, creative dishes such as sardines, butter beans in red sauce or rillettes (a type of meat pâté) – perfect with an aperitif, but not necessarily filling. Inside, it’s cosy, a mixture of café, bistro and wine bar. The best place to sit is outside, where there are plenty of seats and, when the sun is shining, a party atmosphere develops even during the day.
