Caffè Rosso is a historic Venetian café. Its birth dates back to the late 19th century and is mentioned in the book Osterie Veneziane (Elio Zorzi, Filippi Editore – Venezia). The history of Caffè Rosso begins at the same time and is linked to the history of the Al Capon tavern, also located in Campo Santa Margherita in front of Caffè Rosso. In more recent history, Caffè Rosso has become an important transit point for Venetians, artists, students and tourists. In 2002, Caffè Rosso began to sell goods and donate profits to non-profit organizations. Currently, the coffee machine is the oldest employee of Caffè Rosso. D. But also the rest of the café looks a bit like it stood still in time. However, it doesn’t look musty, but totally cosy. Those who don’t come here to eat should at least stop for an aperitif at the historical café.
