There is no visiting Barcelona without having some cava! The Can Paixano came about as an institution for the tasty bubbly. Nerves of steel are needed to advance through the masses to the bar, hurl your order towards the barkeeper, and finally maneuver your glass back out to the the street. During the summer, knots of people form all the way down the street. Now a doorman, who doesn’t really fit into the cozy, historic ambiance, has to ensure that things don’t get too out of order. Even inside the guests are packed shoulder to shoulder with dripping ham sandwiches and glasses in hand. Napkins are simply tosses on the floor, but the people love it!
