Canal House

Those who still know the Canal House as a personally managed hotel in the old style complete with antique furnishings, are in for a surprise! In 2011 the hotel was completely renovated into a design hotel by the Dutch architect studio Concrete, and now one finds oneself surrounded by a lot of black and purple, rather than the original patina. You could be forgiven for thinking you had just landed in Hong Kong instead of Amsterdam. Positive points are the central location, the rooms with canal views and the house-produced line of organic cosmetics. For breakfast guests are seated in the pretty hall “The Great Room”, with a view of the garden; while in the evening you can replace lost energy with a House Burger.
