Legendary Cologne gallerists Gisela Capitain and Friedrich Petzel opened the Berlin counterpart to their Chelsea headquarters in an enormous glass cube on the Karl-Marx-Allee in October 2008. In the 1300-square-meter GDR relic, they show a wide range of artists. Their portfolio includes Cosimo von Bonin, Chritsopher Williams, Monika Sosnowska, Günther Förg and Martin Kippenberger, fro whose estate Ms. Capitain is the exclusive executor. A visit is worthwhile, both for the art and the protected historical architecture, which Capitain and Petzel have lovingly restored.
