Each and every visit to the Hollywood Farmers Market should include a little cup of Carmela ice cream from the Ice Truck at the end of Selma Ave. Carmela offers such imaginative taste-creations as mint cacao nib, cucumber sorbet, lemon-basil sorbet, cardamom, nutmeg, and coffee (made, of course, from the best Intelligentsia beans). Even better, the markets aren’t the only place you can get your ice-cold hit; the good stuff is also available from selected food shops like Joan’s on Third, and in the house’s own ice creamery in Pasadena, where everything is produced.
