The rather imposing Carnival Center, designed by star architect Cesar Pelli and opened in October 2006 has recently been renamed the Adrienne Arsht Center. The centre comprises a 2000+ seat combined ballet-opera house, an equally large concert hall and a small theatre across an area of approximately 5700m2. The only catch is that they somehow forgot to include parking spaces in the design. Consequently, guests are forced to battle it out for a very few, very expensive valet parking spaces. The alternative is to park 2km away and walk; not much fun in a downpour.
