On November 15, 1985, Jonathan Osthoff opened his paper shop Carta Pura in Munich’s Schellingstraße 71. Four facts that still apply today. Osthoff’s focus from the very beginning was on the quality of the paper and the reduced design of the stationery. Hence the name, which is indeed the program: Carta Pura, the Italian term for ‘pure paper’. To put it straight to the point, this shop is a paradise for all letterhead and paper lovers. Osthoff selects the exquisite papers in mostly long processes. They come from Japan and Italy and so one could spend hours here and feel and leaf through the endless selection of Florentine Carta Varese and Japanese handmade paper.
