Ceramica Artistica Solimene

Ceramica Artistica Solimene in Vietri sul Mare is an icon of the Amalfi Coast. The striking building designed by Paolo Soleri in the 1950s, clad in hundreds of terracotta tiles, is just as worth seeing as what is created inside it. In the cathedral-like workshop, the Solimenes still shape and paint plates, vases, and bowls by hand—colorful, playful, and full of Mediterranean motifs such as fish, octopuses, and chickens. Visitors can stroll through the workshop, watch the potters at work and, of course, buy crockery and porcelain directly on site. It is a place where architecture, craftsmanship and Amalfi flair come together in a unique way.
