First thing you need to do is to find this extremely hip and remarkable vegetarian restaurant. You’ll have to go behind the Komischen Oper into the backyard, pass the garbage bins, go around the corner, and like a fata morgana you’ll see a large chandelier dangling in the courtyard. Behind it is the entrance to the legendary Club Cookies and through it you’ll also find Cream, which conjures incredibly imaginative vegetarian dishes you wouldn’t find anywhere else. These are being cherished by a very mixed crowd, which is international but with many Berliners. For example you can get Parmesan knödel (dumplings) with artichokes, kohlrabi filled pasta with Beluga lentils, and a Tonka beans crème brûlée with plum ragout. A 3-course meal costs € 36, but you can also order the dishes separately.
