The Dar El Bacha is an impressive museum with a magnificent art collection: sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as exciting temporary exhibitions of modern art on Arab culture – such as the works of photographer Lalla Essaydi.
The lavishly restored building is an architectural highlight in itself. The inner courtyard is particularly beautiful, criss-crossed by orange trees in which birds chirp loudly – a green oasis that can easily compete with Marrakech’s famous but often overcrowded gardens – only without the hustle and bustle.
If you’re waiting for your slot at Bacha Coffee or simply want to escape the hype, this is the perfect place to switch off.
