In October 2008, in a former metal production hall in the Prague district Holesovice, opened the DOX and with it a new centre for contemporary art. Currently it is one of the most popular museums for modern art in Prague. It also includes a cafe, a bookstore, an auditorium, an archive and a design shop. The Holesovice district and the DOX are a pleasant puristic contrast to the architectural pomp in Prague’s city centre and absolutely worth seeing. To get there take the tram 12 at the metro station Malostranská and get out at Ortenovo námestí. From there it is just a few minutes walk.
