Elbi

Elbi is a real new discovery in Paris. The space is ultra-modern, all stainless steel but rounded off with warm colours, and an open kitchen where you can sit at the counter and watch the chefs at work. The owner, Omar Dhiab, is a Michelin-starred chef and this is his second, more casual restaurant. All the dishes from the Egyptian region are well seasoned but delicately prepared, an incredible blend of oriental influences and modern bistro cuisine that gives Elbi its distinctive signature. One dish that stands out in particular is the kebab. Juicy meat, light smoky notes and fresh herbs on flatbread that is soft yet firm create a combination that lingers on the palate and makes you want to order it again immediately. In addition, a sumptuous lamb stew demonstrates how deeply and aromatically Elbi can prepare slow-cooked meat. To finish, the pistachio ice cream is well worth trying: nutty, intense and rounded off with cardamom crumble, it is one of those desserts that perfectly rounds off an evening. The service is warm, attentive and conveys a feeling of genuine hospitality. Elbi is a place where you want to come back the next evening to try new things on the menu.
