Berliners are on the same page about where to find the best cheesecake outside of the Big Apple, definitely at Five Elephant. To be exact, it tastes simply delicious, with a perfectly creamy texture and a heavenly note of cinnamon. At the same time the café is also known as a trusted coffee dealer, and has even become an institution. Their coffee is from Costa Rica, Brazil and Panama, mostly from plantations that the owners, Kris and Sophie, have already visited. All types of coffee are roasted by Five Elephant, and vary mainly in the roasting aroma. Intoxicating smells permeate the rooms, from freshly roasted coffee to smells of fresh dough, melted butter and home-baked cakes from Sophie’s bakery. Here, you’ll feel like you’re at a friend’s place, with the white walls, simple counter and a few wooden tables. Although there are no great highlights to the interior, the wow-factor comes with their coffee and cakes.
