Directly at the harbour, around the Piazza Marina every weekend Palermo’s most beautiful flea market takes place. It is particularly beautiful on Sundays, when the atmosphere is almost peaceful. So you can rummage for hours at a time. You will find many Sicilian lace and dishes, old postcards and radios, or perhaps an old Fiat refrigerator, not always beautiful and admittedly little exclusive objects, but Sicilian contemporary witnesses with authentic life stories. Those who long for a break can recharge their batteries in the heart of the square under old, thick, shady trees in the Giardino Garibaldi or get refreshment in the form of a cold lemonade, fresh fruit or coffee at the harbour kiosk.
