Since the 1960’s, Yvon Lambert is known as Paris’ avant-garde gallerist and the undisputed star of Paris’ art scene. His gallery was first on the left bank of the Seine, then in Marais. With everything on display at his gallery, he became known mainly for his belief in young American art, whether it was minimal art, conceptual art, or land art. He made a name for himself with artists like Cy Twombly, Daniel Buren, Christo, or Robert Ryman, and today is one of the most influential gallerists in the international art world. Despite the closing of his gallery in 2014, the associated library is still open to visitors and is actually one of the best places to enjoy art. Photo albums, exhibition catalogues, and posters all draw Paris’ creative scene indoors.
