Saalerwirt, pilgrimage church and farm – the romantic trio of Maria Saalen lies idyllically embedded on a wonderfully quiet meadowtop. The church and the courtyard, which have been converted into a charming hotel, date back to the 13th century and are therefore full of history and nostalgia. The listed, panelled parlours of the cosy inn with its cosy tiled stoves, the bright, sunny veranda and the sun terrace with its wide panorama – the setting of this peaceful environment couldn’t be more perfect. And of course there’s no lack of culinary delights either, in the morning and evening guests are spoiled with traditional, honest South Tyrolean cuisine and the rest of the day is best spent at the idyllic natural bathing pond on the edge of the forest.
