Gelati am See – the small, city-famous ice cream wagon with the ornate “Gelati am See” lettering has been an institution through and through on the lakeside in Riesbach harbour for years, 18 years to be precise. Daniele actually wanted to study at the School of Design, but then he fell in love with Paolo Palumbo’s ice-cream. Using the best ingredients and organic milk from small farms in the Zurich Unterland region, he produces the best homemade gelati far and wide – naturally according to original Italian recipes. Since then, Daniele has been buying around two dozen varieties of Paolo’s gelati, from lampone, lime, melon, ovomaltine, pistacchio and fragola, and here on the lakeside makes ice cream dreams from olden times come true. It’s worth waiting in line!
