Villa La Foce stands on a ridge of hills that form the watershed between the valleys of Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. The 16th century property is framed by the unmistakable profile of Monte Amiata and its beautiful, landscaped botanical garden. The Origio couple acquired La Foce in 1924 and commissioned the English architect Cecil Pinsent, who had previously carried out extensive work on Bernard Berenson’s Villa I Tatti in Florence, to restructure the main buildings and create a large garden. This will be maintained and offers a spectacular view over the valley of the Orcia. It is a wonderful oasis that is worth a walk through!
