You really have to look for “Sergio” behind all the tourist cafes on “Lorenzo Market”, but it’s worth popping your head round the door and trying to secure a place amongst the bustle of the large dining room. Surprisingly the locals to tourist ratio is still on the bearable side and the food still authentically simple with dishes such as “rabbit with potatoes”, “pasta con fagioli” and “papa pomodoro” – the Tuscan tomato-bread soup is available at a fair price. Open a bit longer at lunchtime, but closed in the evenings.
