The Hammer Museum at UCLA presents exhibitions and collections ranging from classical to contemporary art, as well as programs featuring the most innovative thinkers of our time. With a wide-ranging international exhibition programme and the Made in L.A. Biennale, the Hammer has highlighted contemporary art since the 1960s, particularly that of emerging and lesser-known artists. Founded in 1990 by entrepreneur and industrialist Armand Hammer to house his personal art collection, the museum has since become one of the city’s hottest and most culturally relevant institutions.
