Heath Ceramics is the famous line of ceramic wares whose plates and bowls bedeck the tables of equally famous restaurants like Alice Water’s Chez Panisse up the coast in Berkeley. You can tell a Heath cup or plate by its distinctive white or unglazed edge. Since it began in Sausalito in 1948, Heath now makes several lines that can be easily mixed and matched. The LA store also sells linen dishtowels, tablecloths, preserves jars, and handpicked cookbooks and often hosts exhibitions of local artist and creative types including graphic designer George McFedridge or product designer Jamey Garza.
