It’s the loveliest farmers’ market in Los Angeles, and is also frequented by the city’s chefs, who come here to source seasonal specialties. Every Sunday, Californian farmers build their stalls on Selma and Ivar Avenue. Everything the foodie-heart desires can be found here. Alongside fruit and vegetables, there’s a veritable best-of of the Californian scene: oysters by the San Diego Oyster Boys, dates by the Bautista family, Carmela ice cream, raw sugar cane smoothies, as well as street music and sometimes Jacqueline Suskin’s Poem Store, where she composes on request.
