For those who don’t want to spend a fortune on a modern hotel, the Santo is where you’ll do rather well for the price. The breakfast room is all glass and light, evoking the melancholy diner in Edward Hopper’s ubiquitous “Nighthawks” poster. The Santo is centrally located and it’s a short walk to the Turkish Gourmet Mile. It also in the heart of the real Cologne, surrounded by the ring road and freeways, but not far from the main station and the Cathedral.
