Kirstenbosch is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world and was the first to receive UNESCO World Heritage status in 2004. It was founded in 1913 with the aim of preserving the Cape’s native plant world. On more than 36 hectares and along numerous hiking trails you can admire the huge variety of exclusively regional plants. This is where the Skeleton Gorge Trail begins, which leads as far as sum Table Mountain. The wooden path, over a hundred metres long and twelve metres high, offers unusual views of the green splendour. And in the summer months (November to April) you can enjoy concerts in the most beautiful open-air setting on Sun
