The art treasures collected over centuries by the Habsburgs, have found a fitting home in the architecturally magnificent Kunsthistorisches Museum at Maria-Theresien-Platz. The collections include objects from the time of Ancient Egypt to the end of the 18th Century, with a special focus on the Renaissance and Baroque. With significant works including, Raphael’s “Madonna of the Meadow”, Vermeer’s “The Allegory of Painting”, the Princesses paintings by Velazquez, masterpieces by Rubens, Rembrandt, Dürer, Titian and Tintoretto, and the world’s largest Bruegel collection, the Picture Gallery is one of the most important art collections in the world.
