The way to La Banchina out of the city bustle and past the opera is pure pleasure. Not only the wide view of the water, but also the buildings that appear from time to time are bursting with architectural splendour. After about 15 minutes, you come to the small, somewhat inconspicuous wooden hut in a small bay and in the middle of the harbour area Refshaleøen. On sunny and foggy days, the creative people of the city meet here, sit on the jetty in front of it, dangle their feet in the water, a glass of rosé in their hands and Danish home cooking at its best on their plates – freshly caught fish and herbs from the house’s own garden. You can even jump into the water to cool off. In bad weather, La Banchina is the epitome of “hygge”, with flickering candles, jazz music and a heated sauna on the terrace. A place where you can easily spend a few hours.
