, Museums: LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura

The LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura was launched with no smaller aim than to create a place where the art and culture of the whole of Italian-speaking Switzerland converge. It opened its doors in 2015, it is to house a museum, a concert hall and a theatre. The museum includes a permanent exhibition, which is still on display at the Museum Cantonale d’Arte, and offers space for temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The contemporary building by architect Ivano Gianola is located in Lugano just a few metres from the lake where the Palace Hotel once stood.
