Since 1952, people have come to “Lommi” in Duetz primarily to savour the large and juicy chops to be found here- the kitchen serves good and proper food. All this is thanks to Lommi, who took over this small, hidden pub from his parents in 1959 and gave it a cult character. He was a complete one-off in Cologne – suave, popular and with a talent for improvisation. If there were not enough chairs, then he would sit people on telephone books. This is now history, but the place is still very homely. If Lommi came down from above, he would pleased to see that his old haunt has been bustling since 2008.
