Lou Pantail means ‘the dream’ in the local dialect. And the family fulfilled this dream when they opened the restaurant in 1990. They are the third generation to run the honest restaurant, offering French classics and a few Italian delicacies. The pizza, a rarity in Nice, is particularly noteworthy. Crispy and wafer-thin, it is baked here in a real, wood-fired stone oven. The walls are fitting. Rustic, unplastered rocks, chequered blankets on the tables. The atmosphere in the small shop with terrace is warm and cosy. No fuss, rather simple modesty is the order of the day here. The same goes for the wine list. Not large, 5 varieties per colour, from 30 – 100€ a bottle. There is even a proper selection of cocktails. Actually everything you need without spending too much money. No wonder that both locals and tourists like to socialise here. Be sure to make a reservation.
