The Madai Aperitivobeisl, just a stone’s throw from the Karmelitermarkt, is the perfect place for relaxed gourmets. At lunchtime there is homemade pasta, in the evening a weekly changing menu with small, delicious dishes based on what the market and local producers have to offer. There’s fennel risotto with orange or octopus with pea and mint cream. An absolute classic that is simple but always good is the chive bread. As the name Madai Aperitivobeisl suggests, there is of course no shortage of aperitifs – Gran Torino, Roman Mule, plus Arunda sparkling wine from South Tyrol and coffee from Mrs Rose. Its proximity to the Karmelitermarkt makes Madai the perfect place to round off a weekend visit to the market with a breakfast afterwards. The interior is colourful, retro, with fresh flowers and puts you in a good mood!
